Reasons to say YAY and one nay

1 - It's 2 weeks today until we leave for our PEI trip
2 - Kate and LJ's wedding is in LESS then 2 weeks
3 - I managed to get an appt at MAC to get my makeup done for said wedding
4 - I'm running the half marathon on October 7th
5 - I lost 6 lbs last week
6 - I fit into a size 10 pair of pants today (definitely not ALL size 10's but these ones fit!)
7 - I feel GREAT today
8 - Carson's 2nd tooth on the bottom is pushing through
9 - Three more of my plants have bloomed (so pretty!)
10 - I have to go shopping for quite a few things (but fun shopping)

Now the nay. Carson isn't overly digging his veggies. He's eaten carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans and peas. Anything I make, he gags while eaten. I think it's because I can't get it as pureed as the stuff out of a jar. So I bought a jar of each of the stuff that I made so I can mix it together so he'll eat it and then I will slowly put less and less of the jar stuff. I also add formula to my home made stuff to make it more of a smooth consistency for him. But still, argh. I get frusterated. Which I know I shouldn't, but you work so hard to make the stuff and then he spits it out. At me. I just keep plugging away and I know he'll eventually start to eat it more.

(Now I'm trying to figure out how to delete my own movie clip, cause I have one I want to post but it's too big to put up on youtube)

Yay, Yay, Yay!!!!!!!!!!! Half marathon? You soooo inspire me. Size 10? You rock! 6lbs! Woo hoo!

Are you finding that the scale is budging easier now that you've stopped nursing, or is that theory just a load of crock? I've been maintaining for WEEKS now, despite best efforts, and am wondering if it's the nursing.

I've been feeling a bit blah today, but your post made me so happy.:-) Thank you!

As for the veggies - have you tried mixing them with rice cereal? Could be that C will like the consistency. Also, after I attended the workshop, I learned that you really do need to add a lot of water when blending. And then you add the breastmilk/formula JUST before serving, to get the right consistency. The sweet potatoes and carrots were quite runny.

Another trick that someone told me about is mixing fruit with the sweet potatoes...

Thanks!!! You know what - this is the FIRST loss I've had and I didn't necessarily deserve it this week. WHen I stopped nursing I still went another 3 weeks without losing anything despite my best attempts.

I just figure that getting ourselves back into the good habits will finally pay off at some point - whether it be after you stop nursing or when your body decides to let go. I am only weighing myself once a week and I have talked myself into not getting discouraged and to go by the feel of my clothes instead.

Thanks for the tips on the veggies. I think I'm just not making it runny enough.

How is R doing with solids so far????

awesome! I hope I can join you in that half! (though we'll meet up at the finish line--I'm sure you'll outdistance me in the first 10 minutes! LOL)

Raiya is still on cereal right now - I was waiting until the exact 6-month mark to give her veggies. That's this Thursday.;-)

We'll see how it goes - I hear you about all the effort it takes to make the food - hopefully she'll like SOMETHING!

Are you freezing it up?
