National Breastfeeding Week

August 1-7 is National BreastFeeding Week - so yay to all you nursing mothers!

I have never regretted my decision about weaning Carson at 6 months. He was just as happy to receive a bottle and while I know there are definite benefits to breastmilk, I don't doubt for a second that Carson will be as healthy as a child who is nursed for the first year. He certainly isn't any less loved, and our decision is what worked best for our little family, and like I said, I wouldn't change anything that I did. Our doctor (and I've heard several other doctors say the same thing) says no one can tell the difference between a breastfed or bottlefed baby (short of the mother telling them, of course).

Its true! Hey, I was bottle-fed. 8) And I thought 6 months was when most people weaned their babies--I honestly think I'm on crack for going longer.
