I hate when Carson has to get needles! He was fine throughout the whole appt, even giggling when the doctor was testing out his hips. Then when he was done, the nurse came in and he had to get his chicken pox vaccine (wasn't sure if I was going to get this done or not, but my doctor gave a very convincing arguement) and his prevnar. He screamed like the dickens (with that whole sobbing cry...) for about 2 minutes and then completely forgot about them. Until he saw the nurse again, after we had gotten dressed and was leaving the office. He looked at her sideways and his bottom lip came out.

Even as I was writing my post last night, I knew my goals were unrealistic. Instead of the museum this morning, we hung around home and played with our new garage/car wash and then went to visit Daddy at work, then a quick trip to Loblaws to pick up a few things we can't get at the grocery store here (brown basmati rice, Tazo tea..). After the doctor's we came home and had lunch (that kid eats everything now, and a whole lot of it). For those who know, Carson wasn't always the greatest eater. He was always too busy to be in his high chair. Now he eats and eats whatever we put in front of him. He won't ever eat with his fingers, only his spoon and doesn't let anyone else help. He's in bed now, so the rest of the afternoon depends on when Sir Carson decides to wake up.
Oh! When the doctor was shining the light in his mouth, I saw two more teeth on top. That's 12 teeth now (I thought he got two molars in on the bottom, but molars are so long that the bump from the one tooth I thought was another tooth). So he has his four front top, four front bottom, and one molar on each side (top and bottom)

Still hurting.
Poor guy - only the one top tooth has broken through completely, I can see bits and pieces of the remaining three. But he's still in pain. He goes through spells of happy and sad. Most of the day today he was happy. I fed him his lunch, put him down and after about 5 minutes he started to cry. I went upstairs and found he had thrown up in his crib. I cleaned him off (he was screaming while I cleaned him up) and put him on my shoulder and he was asleep in about 30 seconds. Then when he woke up he was pretty sad, and again - totally lethargic and just lying in my arms. I took him for a nice long walk in the fresh air (it's not super hot today, it's about 24 with a nice breeze) and he slept for about half an hour. An hour later, he's back in bed.
I hope these fricking teeth break through soon. They say the painful part of teething is before the teeth break through the gums. Poor little munchkin. But he has me wrapped around his finger these days so I'm giving him whatever it is he needs.

Mommy was right...
It's teeth. 2 more to be exact. Poor little booger is having 3 teeth come in at once.
It's now his front left tooth and the left eye tooth. So, in addition to his right eye tooth come in, he has three top teeth. The new teeth have just barely poked through the skin, I can see a pinpoint of white where they are coming.
We went for a long walk tonight, mom, dad and Carson and it's 8pm and he's in bed. This is the latest he's been to bed in a long time (besides last night goingtobed episode) - it would be perfect if he could continue like this!
He got a hit of Advil before bed, thanks for the advice T - about Advil lasting longer :) I hope we don't hear him till morning.

Third one!
Tooth, that is.
His third upper right tooth has poked through the gums. It looks too far over to be one of his front tooth, but isn't it always the front teeth that comes first?
He was a little irritable the other day, but I figured it was the heat.

So I've read
About teething. Some babies cry, get a fever, have a rash, don't sleep, complain, whine etc etc... what does mine do when he's teething? He sleeps.
I was just commenting to some friends today (great to see you both!) how he's been sleeping so much - like 11 hours straight last night, and two two-hour naps before 11:30 this morning.
We went out for about two hours, he fell asleep in the car ride home... and continued sleeping.
I was playing with him in my lap and he was coming forward to kiss me (yes, he does that) and what did I see? A freaking tooth appearing through his gums. I can see the top of the tooth on the bottom right hand side.
Wow - I would take a picture but he wouldn't let me get close enough - he would chomp my fingers. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow.
